ColourQ challenge #345

Hello visitors :-) Today I have two cards for challenges. In this post, I am joining in on ColourQ's challenge #345. I love the weathered colours and textures in the heart image.

For the background of the card, I created a strip pieced panel using DDP's. Colours are richer IRL.

'Friend' and leaf flourish ( I have added a few branches) are MFT.
The frame is from the 'leftovers' box from some years ago. I suspect it's a combination of two Spellbinder's dies, or maybe I have this sweet little die somewhere in the collection.

Have a great day!!

Viva la Verve - June Week 1 Sketch

The path to this card was slightly different to my normal venture into challenge cards. Some years ago I had purchased three Verve stamp sets and I think I used just one of them before losing my craft room for two years. Last weekend, I visited Verve's website, Julee's Blog, Poetic Artistry and the designer's blogs to see what was being created with their stamps. What a fabulous feast of cards! What I loved most.......... the layers!! AND some distressing, SIGH!!!!

So here I am joining in Viva La Verve Challenge for the first time. I don't do many sketch based challenges, but I must say when you are layering, having a plan is very helpful.

Here is the sketch.

I have used Verve Stamp 'Hope Blooms'  for the flower.
The circle is Lil' Inker, 'Stitched Circles'.
Black leaves are MFT 'Leaf Greenery'
'Love' MFT
'...you so much' SSS Flower Friends
DP Recollections Prince Charming and an old Basic Grey

 Thanks for dropping in :-)

Merry Monday #207 It's in the Bag!

This is a second card for me today. I am also joining in with Merry Monday's Christmas Card challenge.

I missed last week as I didn't have a nativity scene. I also didn't have a stamp or image with a Bag or Sack so I had to make one in Serif. I think it squeaks in??!!

Foliage is from the MFT Leaf Greenery Die Set and Ivy from a Lil' Inker Christmas Die Set.
The bow is from W Plus 9's 'Woodland Wreath' set.
I have drawn the Santa sack in Serif, printed and cut it out then coloured it with Watercolour pencils. I added just a touch of water to slightly blend the colours.

That's it from me.

It's very cold here in NZ, but very hot in the U.S. Whatever your weather, happy stamping.

The Card Concept #56 - Sweet Tea

Hi everyone. Today I am joining in with The Card Concept's challenge. The inspiration photo is just so gorgeous and girly. I couldn't resist.

I particularly loved the fluffy flower in the tea cup so pulled out a purchased flower that really captures the look. I love the prettiness. I am not quite sure which category fits my card, Freestyle Collage or Mixed Media maybe?

PTI Hexagon background Die and PTI gold flowers. Wildflower stamp set I think.
MFT white foliage, rounded corner and inner scallop dies.
Lil' Inker Dotted Tags.
Verve sentiment.

Thank you so much for dropping in.

MFT Color Challenge 46

Today I am joining in with the MFT Color Challenge 46. I love the soft colours.

It's a while since I used a butterfly and a doily. Both such pretty elements.
Here is the card.

I had fun embossing the sentiment on vellum. It's a fine line between just right and over or under cooked!
On the second attempt, I tried to stop at just melted, before bubbles. Could have gone a tad further.
I think there is an embossing scale.......LOL
POWDER -- JUST MELTED -- MELTED WITH SHINE(perfect) -- MELTED WITH BUBBLES -- JUST PLAIN COOKED!!
Here is the slightly overcooked version, you definitely lose definition.

And here are two that are almost perfect..........

The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.
The Zig Zag border is part of the MFT Mod Borders set.
Fish Tail banner a MFT Stax.
The butterfly is an old Inkadinkado wooden stamp.
Hero Gold Embossing Powder

Hope you are all having a wonderfully creative week.
Thank you for stopping by.
