Simon Says Stamp Challenge White On White

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - White On White gave me the chance to continue with the white washed theme.................but this time in a slightly different way!!

Here is the card......

Read on for construction and a couple of ideas for making stick pins:-

I cut a piece of craft stock for the background slightly smaller than an A2 card.

Emboss the craft with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes Folder.

Scrape thick, white acrylic paint over the surface with an old credit card. Leave to dry.

Cut a piece of felt with Papertrey Ink's hearts border die. Glue to the card.

Wind two rounds of twine and tie in a bow.

Take the card to the sewing machine and stitch around the edge.

I used straight stitching at the top and bottom, and zig zag on the sides.

Adhere the craft background to an A2 card.

Cut 'thanks' with Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet die. (cuts the thanks all in one) Glue to the card.

For the flower, smear a thin layer of acrylic paint over an old dictionary page with an old credit card. The paint stiffens the page slightly so I find it better than using ink for this.
Cut out flower pieces using Tim Holtz Tattered Flower die. I used two medium and two small for my flower. Scrunch or curl the edges.
Glue layers together and add a gem to the center. Glue to the card.

Add some Flat backed pearls.

And finally, add one of my favorite embellishments (I think they may have gone out of vogue now), stick pins. The pearl pin is a purchased item, but I like to make my own too.

Here are a few of my ideas:-

Take bead caps and flatten them with your thumb (they are very soft).

Use as is, OR............emboss them!! They are great!!

To make the pin, take any smallish item: your embossed bead cap, crocheted flowers, punched or die cut items, pre-made flowers,  gemstones and much more.........

Glue them to a Flat Quilters daisy pin. Heaps of scope here! Have fun...............

Call again soon....................
