Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #87 - A mitten theme

Here we are with another Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. This time the theme is mittens.
I have lived my whole life with a Summer Christmas (and a snowless Winter), Winter Christmas themes seem almost unreal to me. I wonder how many of you have snow right now?? Let me know when you stop by. :-)
Back to mittens! Such a cute theme and shape. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

It seems I say this every second challenge. I have accumulated quite a few Christmas stamps now, but no mittens. Soooo into Serif Drawplus 6 (a low cost, easy to use, graphics program), to draw a mitten.
I printed it off on DP then coloured the tip and wrist. I have embossed a lace pattern under the vellum sentiment and added some glitter accents.

Stamps: Hero Arts Sentiment, Inkadinkadoo snowflake
Ink: Hero arts embossing powders white and gold. Versafine black ink, Memento Green
Dies: Spellbinders Scallop, PTI  Border, Dee's Distinctively Wreath Builder Die
Paper: Vellum, Pebbles Front Porch, Kaisercraft Green
Other: Martha Stewart white glitter, pearls, rhinestones, twine

Enjoy your week.
Karen

Gorgeous card, Karen! Love your sweet mitten and added holly, twine & glitter! Perfect card for the mitten challenge! Happy Holidays! PS. We had about 5 inches of snow yesterday. Ice & rain overnight and calling for more snow again tomorrow. I love it!

This is so beautiful and very creative creating the mitten by yourself. I didn't have any mitten stamps or dies but as you can see on my card, I received the adorable mitten charm and it was perfect. ;) We don't have much snow here in NH yet, it is actually snowing today but we can still see lots of grass. It is coming though.

I forget about our flip flopped seasons! We'll have to do more summer Christmas cards! I've gotta say that you found the perfect mitten! We don't get much snow here in North Carolina, but I still hope for some. We've had a really cold rain for the past 2 days. I'd rather have snow!

I'm impressed that you created this mitten yourself! Now that's being creative! Love your layout and embellishments. Reporting in to say no snow for me in Christchurch ha ha.

Wow this card is stunning!!! There are some cards that I just hop onto a blog, look at, and my jaw drops and this is one of them. I can't even believe you created this mitten on your own. Beautiful!

Hi Karen. Fabulous card. You are the master at layering ... and your combinations are always so amazing. This is gorgeous with the mix of several beautiful patterned papers. Love the embellishments on the mitten - especially the greenery with the glittery tips. Great job on drawing the mitten!

We've had snowfalls the past two nights, but only a small dusting to make everything look white and pretty. By mid-morning, the roads are back to bare pavement. Loll xx

Wow, Karen, for someone not used to mittens, you sure made the most elegant mittens possible! You could wear those to an elegant frosty nighttime outdoor wedding! (Were there such a thing!) I am really impressed that you DREW it! You are a true card artist who is excellent at layering and design!! Hugs, Darnell

Wow, this is great! I realized earlier while making Christmas cards that I don't have any mitten stamps either... You should go into designing a set. The mitten you created is awesome!!
