Make it Girlie with SSS Challenge

This card was made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Make It Girlie.  SSS are showcasing Hero Arts this week so they would like to see cards using their products.
My set is quite old and well used. (See below) The larger leaves come from another Hero Arts flower set.

It's ANZAC day in New Zealand and Australia, a day of remembrance for our fallen heroes.

'Lest we forget'

................They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home...................................

Merry Monday #201 Purple, White and Silver Challenge

I love the colour theme for The Merry Monday Challenge, so regal. It's my friend Jennie's favourite colour so I am sure this will be her Christmas card. The MM design team have given us such great inspiration for the challenge, and the gallery is looking good too.

I have done a wee bit of zooming around the stamp companies blogs, and looking at their designers' cards. SOOO inspiring. Couldn't I ever give the Mastercard a thrashing.............BUT.............I am restraining myself big time. So many fabulous new stamp and die sets, soooooo many. I see Papertrey Ink has a gorgeous new set on the horizon, maybe a splurge here.

So, to the challenge. I have been reacquainting myself with my stamps and dies......and don't laugh, ..........remembering how to use them. I decided on an angel for my card so chose Papertrey Ink's 'Love Lives Here Holiday' set (die and stamp). It has so many wonderful pieces to it, an angel, a mitten, a stocking, two Christmas trees, greenery, and lots of wonderful sentiments and biddy bits.
This is what I ended up with. It did go through a few changes before it got to this stage. I tried for something cleaner but I can't resist the urge to layer.

I am so enjoying the new position of my little craft room. Nothing flash, but it does look out to the garden and the bird bath. I just love watching the birds have their daily splash.
I am also enjoying stamping again, gosh I had forgotten how therapeutic it is......is that just me?
Unfortunately, I can't spend too much time in here, work to do.
Until next time. Happy creating.

Joining Merry Monday's 200th Challenge Celebration

Hellooooo......... It's been a while! Almost two years ago, I packed up my card making room ready for house renovation. This week, I set up my room again.
I did not intend to head straight into a challenge but I saw that Merry Monday had it's 200th challenge so I decided to join in. It is so lovely to be studying these little paper gems again.

Congratulations Merry Monday for reaching your 200th challenge. The designer inspiration cards are all fabulous.
I chose the inspiration part of the challenge using pink, silver and white. So pretty. I have to admit to being very rusty so the card I have made is simple diecuts.

Night photo.

The dies used are Little Inker stitched frames. Clearly Besotted leaves. Lil' Inker Small Bow, Stitched Circles and Jingle Bell Die Sets.

Thanks for dropping by.
