What a thrill it was to see the huge gallery for the last challenge. 70 Cards! Each card was a treat to behold, and my short list for special mentions was almost the whole gallery!!
I know this next challenge will also get your fingers itching to create. "Love and Romance" over at The Card Concept. Here is the completely gorgeous inspiration................................
I love it when I have a clear idea for a card. As soon as I saw the image I thought of a rolled fabric rose. They are so easy to make. See here.
I first tore a 1" x 20" piece of white cotton fabric. I dotted two distress inks on a piece of plastic, then sprayed it, and the fabric, with water. I rolled the strip in the ink making sure to leave some white bits. It was dried with an embossing heat tool. Finally, simply twist the fabric and wrap it, starting from a nice tight centre. I hot glued my flower to a round card disc to hold all the flower in place.
The leaves are MFT and the sentiments are old Hero Arts stamps. I have 'shabbied' up most of the elements just a little.
The first version of the card was made very quickly but something on the card bothered me. The leaves looked like a propeller! So the leaves were removed, chopped and replaced. I think they look better but I do wonder if they should have been slightly different sizes.
My propeller card LOL
