The Runway Inspired Challenge - ric#38 - Burberry Prorsum Resort

Racing to post before going to our dear friends and neighbours for a yummy Roast Lamb dinner! Yummmm.
I am on dessert................. Apple and Peach Ginger Crumble with custard. (It's winter here)
Note to self..............DON"T GET ON THE SCALES TOMORROW!

Here we have an image of a gorgeously slim model, in a delectable coloured skirt and shirt.
Hmmmm, definitely clear soup for the next week.

The background was masked,  the circle coloured with an inked Tim Holtz applicator sponge, then it was stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp.
One banner was embossed then inked, and the other stamped.

The following two cards were made before the one above. Sometimes you have more ideas, or think, 'I can do better'. See what you think...............

Thanks for stopping by fellow bloggers.

More Cards for Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Vintage Vagabond :-)

OK, I said in my last Trigger post, 'there might be more cards'.....and there is......actually..... slightly overkill ....... eeeek!
It's the earthy colours. I know from much experience in quilting, they leave a lot of people cold.
For me, they are heaven.
I was also really inspired by the different textures in the image, especially the stripes.
I have two more cards for the challenge in this post.

This challenge ended up being a series, where one idea led to another.
So I am posting the journey......7 cards in total, two already posted Here.

After 7 months of card making my 'style' is still evolving.(I did make cards 7 years ago but so much has changed since then.) The only thing I know for sure, my style is not CAS. I am happiest when mixing stamps, die shapes, designer papers and bellies.

I have used Papertrey Ink - Doily Details Die Collection (set of 3)  for both of these cards.

For this card I cut Strips in Black and Craft card stock to make the background. It's very bold but I like it.
The Butterfly is a Cuttlebug Die that I have had for a while.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The other cards:-

The truck had a Vagabondy look to me. A Vagabond brings images of someone travelling and time passing......I think the Tim Holtz stamp I have used that says 'Time is a companion'  fits perfectly.
I have used several stamps from this set in the following cards.

Butterflies seem to be journeying and searching....a winged Vagabond.

The frame is Papertrey Ink - Mat Stack 5Die and stamp set.

The Butterfly is from Kaisercraft -Timeless collection here.

Thanks for journeying with me.
Until next time...........................

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Vintage Vagabond

When I saw this image from Moxie Fab I just drooled. I adore these earthy colours.
I quilt with Japanese Taupes and muted wool colours, and I love cards made with them too.
I have a sheet of Kaisercraft Butterflies that I have been itching to use on a project.
This challenge is perfect for them. See the Kaisercraft -Timeless collection here.

I made two cards (and may well make more!!)

I have used my new Hero Arts - Circle Lace (S5319) stamp on both cards....I LOVE this stamp!!
I stamped it in the background on one card and cut it out for the other.
See what you think.

The Background layer is stamped with Hero Arts Large Notebook Paper CG526 Cling Stamp.

I made the flower for this card from a gorgeous piece of fine Linen/cotton stripe fabric.
This card got an 'M' for Moxie Fab.........such great colors.

Have a very creative day. :-)

Runway Inspired Challenge ric#37 - Fashion East

I made so many attempts at this challenge, but the cards I made all looked bitty and disconnected.
I had chosen to do a collage style card, and I felt the repeat stamping needed something more solid to add a contrast and anchor it. To my eyes anyway.

To go to the RIC blog, click on the fashion inspiration photo below.

Here is my card. I love this style.

The sentiments are from various Hero Arts clear stamp sets.
Die cut Butterflies are Cuttlebug and Martha Stewart.
I punched the windows in the black card with a tag punch I have had for some time. Called A Whale of a Punch from memory.
The Edge punch is EK Success - Paper Shapers - Slim Profile - Edger Punch - Round Binding Edge.

Once again, thank you for dropping by.

The Paper Players Challenge #149: Ann's Color Challenge

I spent a little time over the last few days on a couple of Challenges.
This one for The Paper Players Challenge ended up being a lovely soft card....or cards.
I made two because the piece of board I stamped and coloured was quite large.

The colours look softer on the website than they do on this image.

Here is the first card:-

And the second card:-

I stamped and embossed repeated images of  Hero Arts Cling Stamp ETCHED FLOWER Rubber Unmounted CG430. Its a gorgeous stamp with great details.

I coloured with watered down Distress Inks and a watercolour paint brush.
The felt flowers on each of the cards and the die cut 'hello' are from PTI.
The sentiment on the second card is from Hero Arts.
On to post the next challenge card.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

The Play Date Cafe - Challenge 185

I love the wonderful color board The Play Date CafĂ© gives you as inspiration for the challenge.
This weeks colors are fabulous.

I seem to have a bit of a 'butterfly in the bottom right hand corner' theme going on this week!!

I have used The Cuttlebug butterfly die and the Martha Stewart  butterfly punch.
The dot stamp is from PTI Dot Basics II.
The Sentiment is HA Everyday Sayings CL342.
The Edge punch is EK Success - Paper Shapers - Slim Profile - Edger Punch - Round Binding Edge.
The flower is MFT Mini Royal Rose die.

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - All Sweetness and Light

It's been nearly 3 weeks since I entered a challenge, but, I have been busy.
Over the last two months I have finished a new bag pattern, and I am working on a second for my quilting business.
I have been making the odd card at night............... really just exploring styles, stamps and techniques without a particular end need in mind.
However, when I saw the Moxie Fab image with it's gorgeous color combination, I just had to make a card for the challenge.

The background Strips are a Damask patterned stamp from Rubber Stampede (Signature B/G 3255R)stamped with Versamagic Thatched Straw.
The butterflies are a Cuttlebug die (I love this butterfly shape), with a Martha Stewart punch on top.
The 'Hello' is Quickutz Lollipop Alphabet die.

That's it for now.
Thanks for dropping by.
