Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Painterly Palette -2nd Card

This is my second card for the challenge.
For this one I randomly daubed Distress Stains. I love the looseness and the cropping.
Must Link now!!

Thanks Moxie Fab for streeeeeetching me a little more on my creative journey.

Have a great week crafting..........

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Painterly Palette

I seem to be chasing my tail somewhat this week. I have had these cards in mind over the weekend but had to wait until this morning to make them. The linky closes at 4pm on a Monday here in New Zealand.
The inspiration image is so gorgeous, have a look.

For this card I was inspired by the grey negative pattern. When I squinted, it was very obvious.

I used punches for the circles.
Last night I trialled the above idea in Publisher, is the trial better??

Thanks for dropping in.

Fresh Summer Breeze

Good morning!
I am joining The Shabby Tearoom's Week #176 Fresh Summer Breeze Challenge today.
The inspiration image is so fresh and clear, I really loved working with these colours.
Lots of layers..............lovely.
It's such a lovely fresh Spring morning, I don't normally see the sun this early (I am a night owl), but the linky closes in just over an hour so I am PJ posting!

The sun was just peaking through when I took this photo...........

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts Stamp Set. Layers are cut with a Spellbinders scallop die, and a Label Die. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch The felt flowers are from Papertrey Ink dies. The other two blue flowers are Paper Shapers punches.

Might sneak back to bed.........hmmmm!
Until next time, take care.

ric#40 - Stella McCartney

Just had to sneak into the Runway Inspired Challenge....such a cute image.
Really, really fast post!

The first elements for the card were the '4U'. The rest of the card developed from there.

The sentiment is part of a Hero Arts stamp.
The paint splotch and the wee arrow are also Hero Arts.
The Heart is a punch I have had for some time.
The lips were hand cut.
The lips and the heart are embossed.
The 'jewel' is from an old necklace.

Must dash.
Hope you are having a great weekend....happy creating!

Paper Players #155 - Jaydee's CAS Sketch Challenge

Just a quick post to record my card for Paper Players challenge this week.
Following a sketch does reduce the design process substantially......................

A good thing as I am having six friends over for a traditional English dinner tomorrow night. Lots of prep for the dishes, and also making sure everything in the house is squeaky clean  ....................ish!

This card uses the same stamp and colours as the card in my last post. I do like this Avery Elle flower stamp. Had wee play with double and triple stamping with the stamp positioner. Learnt heaps and will definitely do this again. I have watched several tutorials where the demonstrator made it look so easy to use........................I kinda get it now I have tried for myself. The leaves worked particularly well I thought.

I have used  Hero Arts - Circle Lace (S5319) stamp

*Hero Arts Designblock CIRCLE LACE Rubber Stamp

Flower (dies sold separately) and Sentiment Stamps are from Avery Elle.

A wee touch of lace..............

Moxie Fab's image for the Tuesday Trigger - A little Romance is so soft and delicate. The blue is such a gorgeous colour. The temptation was to go really shabby, but in the end, I went very clean and simple.

I used a couple of pieces from WPlus9's Fresh Cut florals stamp set for the blue section. I first inked card with Versamagic, dried it off, then stamped and embossed with Hero Arts White embossing powder. I then rubbed distress ink over the piece with a blending tool. This gave a veiled effect over the blue and embossing (although it doesn't show well in the photo).
The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Lastly I added lace, seam binding, a button, twine and a row of stitching.

A little Miss Havisham...............................

I recently watched the new 'Great Expectations' with Helena Bonham Carter playing Miss Havisham.
As a lover of anything shabby, Miss Havisham, to me, is the ultimate source of shabby inspiration. This version of  GEs was no exception.
When I saw The Shabby Tearooms image for Challenge Week #175 - 'Romantic", Miss Havisham came to mind.
I thoroughly enjoyed making this card.

I used lace from my Stash of lace. The Broderie anglaise lace is Tea dyed.

(Click on images below to take you to Simon Says Stamp)

Script paper is from MME.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Clear set Truly Grateful (CL569)

The sentiment is backed with a Spellbinders - Labels 17 diecut.

The small white butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

The large butterfly is a from a cheap metal belt. I 'aged' it with ink and paint.
The bling is from Bella Bling.
Flowers are from 'I am Roses'.

Have a great weekend everyone..........................

Teal and curry challenge.................................

When I saw the colours for the Paper Players Challenge #154 - Colors from Nance, a piece of designer paper I have came to mind. It has a white washed effect with touches of teal.
I have Die cut, and sliced it, to reveal the stamped background................ something new for me.
I like the effect. It creates quite different shadowing from layering the elements on top of the DP. Hmmmmmm!

The Designer Paper is Prima Annalee Collection "Poetry" It is a double sided paper.

The  doily stamp is from Wplus9  Lacey Layers. Has a matching die set.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings (CL342)

*Clear Hero Arts Stamps EVERYDAY SAYINGS cl342

The picot trim is a die cut from the ric rac border die from PTI.

The hemp twine is Hemp Cord, Card Set, Bronze Shades, 0.5mm from the Hempbeadery on Etsy.  Love these products!

Green and Tangerine!!

Wow! What a rush for the colourQ challenge #197...
I had made all the elements, and settled on an arrangement for this card last night thinking I would be home in heaps of time today to finish it before the deadline. It didn't happen. So I have run through the door, put myself on 'Fastforward', made the card, whizzed through photography, and dived to the computer. The card was linked without a written post. :-( So here it is now.

Here is the card. The vertical dark background is black card with a leather like pattern on it. When it is cut the core is a reddy/brown. So it is a warm, organic black Sylvia. :-) When I took the photo, the late afternoon light was very strange.

Added Note 8 August:-I was so delighted to see this card was chosen as the ColourQ Colour Queen, what a thrill!!
I was very curious about the 'is it brown or black' discussion on the card. On my screen, when I look at the photo straight-on (eye level) the card looks black, but I was amazed to see that background strip go very brown if I looked down on it!! I am sure there is an explanation for this phenomenon, but truly, in real life, it is black. And yes, there was a bit of photo tinkering to present the best image of the card.

Flower and Sentiment are both from Hero Arts.

Thanks for dropping by.

Oh Honey...................................

There is such a lot you can do with the images from Play Date CafĂ©  and the An Oh {so} Sweet Color Challenge was no exception. I have seen a bit of burlap on cards recently and just love the texture. I thought it would really suit this challenge.
I didn't have Burlap, but I did have Hessian (probably the same thing :-) so this was my starting point for the card. I swiped a bit of ink over it, and whizzed it through the Cuttlebug.

I also decided splatters would suit the theme, but my 'splatter' technique is still developing.
I wanted the splatters to be a bit 'blobby', so I mixed a little matt Mod Podge and water with distress ink. This splattered very nicely and didn't spread. See what you think.

The Hessian was cut with an oval Spellbinders die.

The black and white spotty flower in behind the medallion is from MME Antique Dots 12" pad, punched with a jumbo 3" FLOWER  Giga Clever Lever Paper Craft Punch Marvy

The Kraft doily is Papertrey Ink - Doily Details Die Collection (set of 3)

The  doily stamp is from Wplus9  Lacey Layers. Has a matching die set.

The sentiment is from  PTI Wonderful Words Hello Mini Stamp Set (2628). The Hello has a matching die.

Once again, thanks for calling.........happy crafting.
